Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

IRIS FOLD ORNAMENT CARD

Hi Everyone! I hope you're getting your Christmas cards done :)
I haven't done an iris fold card in a long time, and truth be told there is no folding on this one either. I cut strips of pattern paper and laid them down in an iris fold design. I really like how the papers work together, and so easy to do.
There are iris fold directions all over the web- just ask google :)
The stamp is a beauty from Quietfire Design. There's a super special on right now!

If you'd like more card ideas, check out my post at Quietfire Creations.

Thanks for looking today and have fun with your card making!

JUST FOR YOU WITH JUST SCRAPS

Hi Everyone!
Here's a quick card today, that will help you clear off your work table. Maybe.
You can see how easily I created this card. I cut fishtails into strips of design paper. I stamped JUST FOR YOU onto scraps and die cut them.
Added some sponging along the edges and did faux stitching with a marker.
There you go- quick, easy, and fun!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT

Hi Everyone!
Many months ago I made up a book filled with gelli prints, as my base for an art journal. And there it sat, and sat. Fear of beginning, failure, what?
Yesterday, that ended, and this page developed. I'm not sure it's finished. For now, it is.  :)
Thanks to inspiration, from Wanda, I'm linking to ...

I love the new stamps from Quietfire Design- Wine is Sunlight plus several more, and on sale right now! You'll love them all.

IT'S A TWIRL THING!

Hi Everyone!
While it is still summer, the cooler temps are turning my thoughts to fall. I love fall. DH loves fall, so we are in our happy place these days. :)
I can't seem to stop using this stamp from Quietfire Design- don't you just love it?
TWIRL puts me in mind of falling leaves as they swirl and twirl to the ground. The bees are starting to slow down and sometimes do their own little spin and twirl too.

I am linking to these challenges:

I hope you go check out the challenge blogs and give them a try. Don't forget to see the new stamps over at Quietfire Design too!

NEW STAMPS ON ATC'S

Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to share some ATC's with you. My local group has a trading session tomorrow, and I made a few new cards to trade.

My friend Jutta, and I decided on a challenge between us- kraft paper, black, white and leaves.

I always like a challenge, but I love Quietfire Design stamps.

Isn't this stamp awesome! (this is my favourite card)

So, there you have it. My little collection of artist trading cards to add to my binder for tomorrow.

You can see the new stamp sets HERE.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT!

Hi! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer- it's just flying by, isn't it?
In my busy-ness, I forgot to blog this card. I just discovered it while reviewing some photo files :)

This fun-to-make card has washi tape, close together to create designer paper. Then, some holes were cut out, some butterflies were punched and embossed and the card was put together.
Don't you love the happy birthday stamp? It has whimsy and happy all over it! It's one of  a set of seven stamps- all beautiful- and you can get them HERE

This is a design idea I could use again- different washi tapes, maybe squares instead of circles, another greeting. We'll see. :)

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you're having a terrific summer!

CHALLENGE CARD

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. Busy, fun times for all.
I took some time today to create a challenge card, and build my birthday card stash.

BUTTERFLY CHALLENGE #11  is all about adding spots and stripes, along with a butterfly. I picked up the butterfly, months ago, at my local dollar store. It was white, so I sponged some colour on, then attached it to the card.  The spots are obvious, the stripes are subtle, stamped using the smaller stamp from the DOTTED HARLEQUIN BORDERS  set from Quietfire Design.

The flowers in the corner, are clear, sparkly stickers, like Peel-offs, that have been coloured with permanent markers.

The bold HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Quietfire Design has weight, to anchor the design to the card front.

I enjoyed creating this birthday card to share today, and I hope you'll click on the challenges to see lots of other great projects.
I appreciate your visit!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF WIRED FLOWER

I enjoyed making the wired flowers so much a couple weeks ago, I had to make another.

I chose to stamp the center circle with one of my new stamps from Quietfire Design. Then, I filled it up with Diamond Glaze, and I mean, I really filled it. Which may have been a mistake. It's 24 hours later, and it's still cloudy- dry to the touch, but not clear. I hope it will clear eventually- anyone know?
On my previous flowers, I brushed on the DG after it was glued to the wire, so the layer was quite thin, and it dried clear very quickly.
If this piece doesn't clear in a few days, I'll just re-do the center piece.
So, other than the cloudy finish, I'm pleased.

I hope you have a wonderful day, and thank you for stopping by!

BELIEVE STAMP & PRUNING

Hi! I have two projects to share today. First up, a card using one of the fabulous new stamps from Quietfire Design. Click HERE to see the full card.
I had some play time with my Gelli plate, after I'd pruned (cut down) a little mountain ash tree.

The leaves are a great design, and nice and flat for printing.

I had some prints that needed a little something, either a boost or toning down.

The leaves became so covered in paint, I flipped them over onto some prints, and used them like stamps.
This is a small sampling of what I made in about two hours. It can be such messy fun!
These sheets will become card backgrounds, journal pages, ATC's, etc.

I hope you're enjoying your day, and thank you for looking!

MISSION: STAMP ORGANIZATION

If you have visited my blog before, you'll know that I LOVE my Quietfire Design stamps. Not just for the fantastic artwork, they are also durable, and can take any medium and technique I throw at them. They also- multiply! So, my binder storage was no longer working, and something had to change. For under $10. and a whole lot of time, 12 hours to be exact, I have re-vamped my stamp storage. It's not pretty, but I'm pleased with how user friendly it is. :)

I went to Dollar Tree and found the 10x12x6 box with the hinged lid. It even has Get Organized printed on it. :)

Here it is- full of stamps.

Here you can see all the tabbed folders, each has a sheet of stamps, and a number on the tab.

These are the new foam mounted stamps. They come on their own storage sheets, so this is four sets of stamps. I joined the sheets together, and slid it into the clear plastic file folder.

This is how they are joined together- first with duct tape joining the four edges, then with chipboard to stabilize them.

These are the sports card holder sheets. They came out of the binder and into a file folder, then into the box. Now, I needed a catalogue. I could no longer keep track without one.
This is what took most of the time.

I bought this notebook from Dollarama a couple years ago. I removed the spine, trimmed the pages and covers, punched holes and added binder rings. Now, it lays flat and I can add pages easily.

I made dividers and gave them categories.

I listed the name, order number, how many to the set, and what number file folder it is stored in.
Click on any photo to enlarge them.

I drew lines to show at a glance, each set.

Well, there it is. Just waiting to be made pretty! In the meantime, I love how this is working.

Storage box- $1.25
Notebook- $1.25
Plastic folders- 5 pkgs. @ $1. = $5.- still have a few
Time- 12 hours
Small price to pay to not have to dread pulling out the binder anymore.

So, not a pretty share for you today, but now you know what I've been up to ;)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
