Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

WELCOME FALL!

The colours of autumn- comfy, toasty and vibrant. Then, I go one step further and add a little shimmer.

I used a gold stardust gelly roll pen to outline the stamped design. That's the shimmer, but there is more going on here. The stamp is a die-cut fun foam background stamp made with a Spellbinders botanical expandable die. I stamped on white cardstock, let it dry and I brayered inks over it. Then I followed up with the gelly roll pen. The actual stamp (die) is more than twice the size of the strip you see here.
The friend sentiment from Quietfire Design was stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with espresso embossing powder. The little leaf is perfect for fall and got a little gold sparkle too.
Again, hard to photograph because of the shimmer, the sunshine and the photographer. :) I must have taken 30 shots of this card and this is the best of them.

This card is dedicated to my wonderful friend Karen. Fall is not her favourite season- she is a Spring girl! However, she knows I like Fall and she loves me anyway.

I hope you are enjoying your day and thank you for dropping by.

BACK TO THE BRAYER WASH BACKGROUND

The turquoise and pink papers were brayered and die cut and punched. The card base was stamped, then spritzed with the spritzer tool and markers. Everything was glued down and pearls were added. The tiniest flowers have dots of white shimmer ink to mimic the pearls.

I am off to check out the technique box to see what I can show you next.
You have a wonderful day!

BRAYER WASH BACKGROUND & COLOUR Q 138

These shoes! Not for me to wear but I love the colours.

This brayer wash background started with more mustard and then I added a little pool party which of course, gave me green here and there.
This works best on regular card stock (washes out on glossy) is easy and only a little messy. Ink up the brayer and spray it lightly with water. Then roll it across the cardstock. Repeat until the card stock is covered in colour. You can add other colours or keep it all one colour. Stamp over it, emboss it, the possiblilities are there for lots of play time.
Here is the sample tag:
All in blue-love it!

Don't forget to go have a look at the Colour Q entries. Lots of beautiful eye candy.

Have a wonderful weekend!

MORE WITH THE BRAYER

This last card was made with natural white cardstock which has a rough texture compared to whisper white. It created a different finish with the brayering. I like it.

This completes the samples from our brayer session. Thanks for looking!

Don't forget that I'll be giving away a 12x12 clip frame the end of September. Leave me a comment to be entered to win!

BRAYERED FAVE

Here is abother card from our evening with a brayer. It also shows the Christmas Collage background stamp-part of it anyway. Again, I brought out the shimmer ink and used it two ways- lightly sponged over the embossing along the bottom and sprayed lightly across the top. The snowflakes were sponged with it as well but it doesn't show up in the photo.

Have a fantastic day!

SIMPLY BRAYERED

Hostess Club used brayering techniques this month. This card is one sample and couldn't be simpler with no additional colouring- just brayering.
Enjoy your day- hope you get out in the sunshine!

100TH BLOG POST!

My blog. When I began this blog in February, I had no idea that I would enjoy it so much, or that I would even keep it up.So, to have this be my 100th entry, is amazing to me. The visitor counter recently hit the 1000 mark as well so I think it's time for a give-away. This has to be local as I don't want to try to mail it.
I will give a 12x12 clip frame to the winner.
Just leave me a comment and on September 3oth, I will draw a winner.

Today's card is the sample for Hostess Club coming up on Monday night. Just a bit  of brayering and stamping- couldn't be easier.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

BRAYER & SPRITZ

Run a brayer that's been inked up with a Kaleidacolor pad, over glossy cardstock, follow with a quick spritz of Smooch spray and you have a pretty background just waiting for your chosen image.

Yesterday, a very creative friend of mine had a birthday. I was away for the day and never sent her birthday wishes. So, a day late but......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YVONNE!
