Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

Hi there! I have a quick Mom's day card today.
I just received this beautiful MOM stamp from Quietfire Design. Isn't it gorgeous?
This is the inside- another Quietfire Design stamp as well.

12 X 12 EASY PEASY

I only had one sheet of this designer paper but it became the perfect piece to wrap this gift and use on the card. I also put some on the envelope but I didn't show it in the photo.
The thing about using designer paper is you get a nice card, quickly.
I'm pleased with how the card and gift turned out.

The paper I used is from Hot Off the Press and if you've used their paper you know that it is just that- paper, not cardstock. The added bonus is not adding too much bulk or weight to the projects.

Just a quick and easy one for you today.
Hope you have a great day, whatever it is you're doing!
Thanks for stopping by.

TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS

These two cards were the favourites from the weekend card camp. They are also the two using traditional red & green colours. I'll share the other two in days ahead.

Very little stamping on this one. The designer paper does the work.

Chalking and sponging carried the colour and kept it all subtle. In real life, it is a titch brighter.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is fantabulous!

ALMOST 3-D

The doilies on this card illustrate perfectly how colour can show depth. Light colours look further away and dark colours look closest. The doilies appear to be laying over eachother with the darkest ones on top. This technique works well with any subject or image and is a fun way to make designer paper.

This can be done with the same colour too simply by stamping off and having lighter and darker shades.
Give it a try!

PAPER WORKS

The Holly Berry designer paper is gorgeous. This card has a very small sampling and you can't see it but the polka dots are embossed gltter. Another paper in the collection has embossed glitter stripes- so Christmas candy-ish!
Another quick card letting the paper do the work.
Happy long weekend everyone.

A SCRAP MAT

This quick card has a secret. Behind the design paper, the more mustard mat is full of holes. It was used for punching out pieces for various other cards, but had enough of an edge that I could use it for a mat. Just a little frugal tip for you today :)

Have a terrific day!

PRETTY PAPERS

The summer mini catalogue is packed with beautiful things and this designer paper is no exception. It's gorgeous and while I don't often use designer paper on my cards, I will use these- a lot! It's called Beyond the Garden and matches the Fabulous Florets stamp set perfectly.

With the dull days we're having, it's nice to see some brightness.

Have a fantastic day!

MORE SPRING FLING

The designer paper does the work with this one. It's just right for a soft, pretty card. I don't work with print papers much but when I do I like how the colour decisions are made for me. Easy peasy! Colour combining has always been my weak point so I use whatever tools are available to help me. Colour wheels, designer paper and catalogues -all kinds- are great tools for this.

Have a great day!
