Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

THE FLIP SIDE

I just wanted to show you the revised card. I added some flags and bling. Then, I flipped over the
M-Bossibilities folder and did the same technique using that side.
This such a fun technique!

My post is up over at Quietfire Creations so please go have a look. Here's a teaser....
Go see what the other designers have been up to as well, if you haven't already.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

FRIENDSHIP.....PRICELESS

My DH and I have always known how blessed we are with the friends we have. We've reached an age where life has proven many times, how important friends are to us and 'who' they are. This beautiful sentiment from Quietfire Design sums it up perfectly. We hope we've been a sheltering tree for others.
The technique here is Embossing Folder Print and it's so easy. Inks are dabbed onto the folder after you decide which side of the folder you want to use. I use my art journal to do test stamps so I can choose my end result. Once inked up, a light spritz of water moves the inks a touch. Then you lay the card stock over it and smooth it all over with your hands, or a brayer or an acrylic block or your bone folder.....you get the idea :)
For this card, I gave it a little spritz of walnut ink as well, then completed the card. I think it needs a little something in the top right corner. What do you think? I have bling or a small pennant could go there, or a button. Or nothing at all? Let me know.

I hope you have steadfast sheltering tree friends in your life and that someone thinks that of you. As I said....priceless.

Have a fabulous day and thanks for looking!

COLOUR Q ONCE AGAIN

Tomorrow is the deadline for this week's Colour Q so I got busy this afternoon.
I used the embossing folder as a stamp. I inked up the side I wanted to use with a brayer, placed it over the white cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot. I had to add a few layers of cardstock for shims, to get a good print.
The flowers are die cut from white waffle paper, glued into stacks, crumpled and sponged with dye inks. All easy stuff to do, just takes a bit of time to do it. Worth it I think. :)
Take up the Color Q challenge here.

Then, I had a go with the left-overs and made some tags, or bookmarks.
The opposite end of the folder was used for stamping on these backgrounds.

Thank you for looking!

EMBOSSING FOLDER BUT NO EMBOSSING

That's right! The main image used the embossing folder more like a print maker- no embossing required. This technique first came about using texture plates but the embossing folders work too.
To do this, open the folder and 'feel' the side where the design is a depression, then swipe ink pads across it. Then, spritz the folder with water- I also spritzed a pearl spray- lay your card stock on the folder, lay scrap paper over it and rub all around with your hand making sure that all the cardstock comes into contact with all the folder. Or you could use your brayer. Peel off and let it dry. It will flatten as it dries.
Hint* -you can speed drying time using your heat tool but you do risk warping the cardstock and/or fading the ink that way. Make up the rest of the card while waiting for it to dry as it doesn't take too long.
Again I'm sorry for the photo quality (or lack thereof) and hope to spend some time 'learning' my camera.

This pretty little card will go into the mail to my Mom. It will be in a box along with a portrait of my sons so the curled corner should survive the trip.

I see sunshine  for the moment, you know who won the hockey game and you know who else got married today. It's all good.
