Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

MERRY CHRISTMAS SNOWFLAKE

One of my favourite things about the new Snowflakes are the Buttterflies stamp set from Quietfire Design is the snowflake Merry and Christmas stamps. They go together perfectly to create a very delicate and pretty snowflake.
This card has a circle stamped background. So easy peasy and you make it exactly as it sounds. My circle stamp is a die-cut fun foam stamp and it works great with Distress Inks.
You can see the light spritz of shimmer spray in this close-up.
Here is a card I previously posted using the same circle background technique, done the same way with the same fun foam stamp.

Thank you for stopping by!

MOMENTS TO REMEMBER

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. We did! My Sis and her DH came to stay for a couple days and it was so nice. They leave in a couple weeks to go south for six months, so all the moments together are precious.
This card uses Quietfire Design stamps and distress inks. The frame from Happy Family Days was used to create the swirls in the background, then a variety of colours of distress ink were stamped over it using a circle die-cut fun foam stamp. It was trimmed and paired up with the sentiment and some decoration was added. Quick and easy, peasy.

Have a great day today and I hope you get to use that creative spark you have.
Thanks for looking!

TWO FOR ONE!

Here you go- two cards in one entry today. Both cards began with the same technique for the base. We swiped a couple colours of distress ink onto a craft mat, sprinkled on some Pearl-ex (one with gold, one with copper) and gave it a spritz of water. Then, we laid our cardstock over it, picking up the colour. Once dry, we stamped and coloured our images. Then, it all was covered with Versamark and clear embossed.
The bottom card had a couple layers of UTEE added to it and we did a cracked glass technique. You can really see the shimmer of the copper Pearl-ex on this one.
Remember to click on the photos for a closer look.
Another great play date with Kate.

Have a great weekend- hope you get to play!

NOSTALGIC BATIK

I totally CASED (copy and share everything) this card!
Went to Kate's yesterday and she had this beautiful and bold card ready. The technique is called Nostalgic Batik and was very easy and fun to do. I loved her card so much, I didn't change a thing. Distress inks give a very saturated colour, almost instant gratification. I have to do this technique again using SU dye inks.
Thanks Kate!
I really enjoyed our play time- always do.

DISTRESS INK- SECOND PLAY DAY

Kate came over and the distress inks came out for our play time.
The panel behind the lattice was inked with distress ink, then a background stamp with Versamark ink and a spritz of water was stamped over it. It creates a very subtle effect that has lots of depth in real life.

See the bling? That's the new Jewels from Stampin' Up!
They have rhinestones and pearls. I love BOTH of them. You'll be seeing more of them over the next while.

Have a wonderfully creative day!

DISTRESSED in a good way!

Do you have supplies that you really like (or you probably wouldn't have bought them, right?) but they sit on the shelf, unused, unloved and creating guilt because they are unused and unloved? Yeah, me too. Case in point, my distress inks. I bought them, created technique tags for them and then, ignored them.
My good friend Kate, has these inks too so we decided to challenge ourselves to use them. We were meeting for coffee once a week but now, we visit eachother's home and create together. Our first play day was last week and this card came from that time.
Each week, I hope to show the results of our Distress Ink playtime.
Are you interested in the "how to"? Let me know!
Have a great day- play a little!
