Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

MOTHERS- HEARTS FOREVER

Colour Q presented this great button bracelet for inspiration this time around. It shouts Spring!

Less Is More has a challenge using a frame.

I jumped at using the colours and the frame, knowing it was an opportunity to ink up another new stamp from Quietfire Design. Another beautiful stamp from Suzanne. Love her style!

You can click on the names and see other entries, and the new stamps are still on special.

Thanks for stopping by!

ARE YOU SEEING GREEN?

It's March. Have you noticed that in March, GREEN is used a lot? It's a nice change from the colours of winter. Colour Q has greens this week and look at that beautiful bracelet. They always find the best photos to pull the challenge colours from. I'm also sharing my card at Less Is More. The challenge is using stripes and spots.
I love the boldness of this Quietfire stamp. It comes as a set of two, with the same sentiment in two sizes- this one is the larger one.

Thank you for looking today and I hope you are inspired by some March green.

TAKE TWO- PUZZLE PIECE RESIST

I had to give it another go....just had to.
I think the more contrast there is between the base card colour and die-cut colour, the better the result will be. However, this card has less contrast but I like the look.
I like the stamp sentiment and how it works with the woodgrain background stamp, that resembles bark. There's one more thing........
....and it's about  the ink. Distress inks. They blend so beautifully together. The leaves were sponged with a green colour, each different, and they were all edged with yellow. I like the look.

This technique has a lot of potential. Can you see a birthday card with balloon die-cuts and bright colours? Or pastels and pretty florals for Mom?
What's your take?

COLOUR Q & THINKING OF YOU

Tulips for Spring. Colour Q is giving us a peek at what we can hope to see in a month or so. These ones will last much longer. :)

Now that I see this card, I wonder if I shouldn't have reversed the colour placement. I mean, calypso coral for the background and daffodil delight for the butterflies, still edged with cherry cobbler.
For now, I'll share the technique used here.
It's called Puzzle Piece Resist and you can find the full tutorial HERE.
This shows the clear embossing and the puzzle piece butterflies .

You can see what others have done with the Colour Q challenge HERE.

I hope you can find some time to try the colour challenge and/or the technique.
Flex some creative  muscle today!

Thanks for stopping by- I appreciate it.

WHERE I'VE BEEN......CAN YOU GUESS?

We took a little vacation and before we left, I did a little eraser carving. Take note of the one on the bottom left.
I made a folder with GRACIAS stamped on them, one for each day we were there. I make them to put our housekeeping tip in each morning. DH puts it on the pillow and it's just a friendlier way to leave the tip. I did carve two styles of the GRACIAS as you can see on the folders.
We went to Akumal Beach Resort in Mexico. We absolutely LOVE it there.
This is the view from the lobby- only the beginning!
This lovely towel art was the first of the creations we came back to each day.

We were treated to complimentary champagne as well. Maybe because it was our fourth visit to the resort. It's our home away from home.  :)

Thanks for stopping by and now I'm home again, I look forward to creating and sharing again.
