This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. COLOUR ME FALL

Hi Everyone!
The fall colours are just spectacular these days, and I love breaking out the leaves for my projects. This clean and simple card uses a stencil for the sun rays strip, and great stamp from Quietfire Design, and some die cut leaves.

The top leaf has been layered liberally with embossing powders. Green. orange, copper, gold red, black- all sprinkled on and melted in. Then, topped of with a coat of clear embossing powder.

I am sharing this card in the following challenges:

You'll want to go look and be inspired by all the creativity and colour!

Thank you for visiting today- I appreciate you!

BELIEVE

Hi Everyone!
Look at this beautiful e-cut! Another perfect creation by Suzanne of Quietfire Design.

The butterflies were punched, then inked up in autumn colours, and given a tiny bit of sparkle.

The top edge of the panel was embossed with a tree bark folder, and lightly swiped with ink.

The colours of autumn- absolutely the best!

IT'S A TWIRL THING!

Hi Everyone!
While it is still summer, the cooler temps are turning my thoughts to fall. I love fall. DH loves fall, so we are in our happy place these days. :)
I can't seem to stop using this stamp from Quietfire Design- don't you just love it?
TWIRL puts me in mind of falling leaves as they swirl and twirl to the ground. The bees are starting to slow down and sometimes do their own little spin and twirl too.

CHALLENGE CARD

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. Busy, fun times for all.
I took some time today to create a challenge card, and build my birthday card stash.

BUTTERFLY CHALLENGE #11  is all about adding spots and stripes, along with a butterfly. I picked up the butterfly, months ago, at my local dollar store. It was white, so I sponged some colour on, then attached it to the card.  The spots are obvious, the stripes are subtle, stamped using the smaller stamp from the DOTTED HARLEQUIN BORDERS  set from Quietfire Design.

The flowers in the corner, are clear, sparkly stickers, like Peel-offs, that have been coloured with permanent markers.

The bold HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Quietfire Design has weight, to anchor the design to the card front.

I enjoyed creating this birthday card to share today, and I hope you'll click on the challenges to see lots of other great projects.
I appreciate your visit!

BLOSSOM BITS ~ CONGRATULATIONS

Hi there!
This card is a real mixed bag-dry embossing, stenciling, die cutting, and stamping. The congratulations stamp is one of five in this set from Quietfire Design.
The nine squares were stenciled, then attached to the dry embossed panel with foam tape. The panel was adhered to the card base and the stamped piece was attached with foam tape.
After cutting out the flowers and foliage, it was cut into sections and glued over the squares.
I'm using this card for these challenges:

FLOURISHES & BUTTERFLIES

Hi there! Don't you just love the bright, cheery colour here? Me too.

This card has scattered embossing on the white base layer using an Anna Griffin folder. The edges are distressed, and it's attached to a dark brown card base.
The colourful panel, and white cardstock has been die cut, then the white cuts embedded in the coloured piece. This was matted with dark brown cardstock.
Burlap paper-absolutely love this stuff- was stenciled, using the opposite piece from the white die cut, as the stencil, and dark brown acrylic paint.
The fabulous butterflies are from a new e-cut file from Quietfire Design. The sentiment stamp is Quietfire Design as well.
All the pieces were layered and attached, ribbon added, pearls added, and DONE!

I am sharing this card on Splitcoast Stampers for the embedded flower challenge.

SPRING WATERCOLOUR CHALLENGE

Hi! Are you craving colour, and warmth? Good to know Spring is officially right around the corner!
Suzanne did up this fantastic e-cut for spring, and you can find it HERE.
I thought it was perfect for some blotchy type watercolouring. It's fun to watch the colours blend and run into each other. Begin by wetting down the area to be coloured- the spring cut out. Then dab watercolour here and there, repeating until you get the look you like. Add more water to move the colour, and more colour to darken it.
I went all around the edge with a dark green marker, and allowed it to bleed a bit, into the still damp cardstock. The flowers were coloured, stacked and glued to the card base.
I'm entering it in VIRGINIA'S VIEW CHALLENGE

NOEL CARD -NO STAMPING

Hi Everyone!
No stamping at all on this card but the papers have been cut four different ways. I only realized that after I photographed it. The red foil paper was cut with my paper trimmer to form the background and narrow strip. The red foil paper is recycled from Christmas crackers we had at our table one year. It is subtly embossed- it came that way. I embossed a piece more heavily with a folder and it broke the foil, leaving white cracks everywhere. Not so pretty.
The 'chain' strips were cut using a die and my Big Shot machine. That's two!

The green accent flowers were punched using two sizes of six-petal flower punches, stacked and beads added. My favourite element is the word NOEL, cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine. The beautiful cut file is from Quietfire and for sale on Silhouette's site HERE.

There you have it- four ways of cutting paper and a little recycling added in.
I plan to share this at Cards in Envy for their "punch it" challenge.

I encourage you to check out the links and get inspired!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully creative day.

GET CREATIVE CHALLENGE AND A DIY WITH QUIETFIRE DESIGN

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful summer.
We are having a very busy one, but it is wonderful too.

Recently, I discovered this great challenge blog, from Greece.
You can CLICK HERE to go check it out.

This month, they have the image below as the inspiration for the card.

It turns out, I needed to decorate a clock to use at our new home. We have a lovely covered deck, and would like a clock out there. So, I used the challenge image to complete the DIY clock revamp.

I used an assortment of beautiful Quietfire Design stamps for the sentiment and most of the design. Love those butterflies and bees! The stamped flowers are Stampin' Up! and the dots around the edge are a pencil eraser. I am very happy with the result and will get a photo of it in use.

Now, I have some news........my friend Jutta is posting as a Guest Designer tomorrow -August 7th-over on the QUIETFIRE CREATIONS blog. I know she'd love for you to go have a look, and please leave her a comment. I know I don't have to ask you to, you'll want to.  :)

One more piece of news.......I've been published!  I am so excited to tell you that Paper Creations has a card of mine within it's pages. Page 35 to be exact. Suzanne Cannon and Wanda Hentges are featured in the article as well. You could call this a bucket list item for me.  :)

I've missed blogging and I was so happy to have fun news to share today.

I hope to be back soon.
Thanks for looking!

Less Is More has a challenge using a frame.

I jumped at using the colours and the frame, knowing it was an opportunity to ink up another new stamp from Quietfire Design. Another beautiful stamp from Suzanne. Love her style!

You can click on the names and see other entries, and the new stamps are still on special.

BACKGROUND WHIMSY

In keeping with the challenge I made myself to do a technique or use new rubber, I am showing the background whimsy technique. Usually, it stays in the background and a focal image covers part of it but this time, I made the garden the image.
On glossy card stock, stamp with stazon ink and once dry, sponge on dye inks. Use a white gel pen to draw over the lines. A little or a lot, it's up to you. As with most techniques, you decide how much and where.
Like the bandana technique, it can be addicting. Up tomorrow, hopefully, the bandana technique. Another B.

Have a marvy day and thanks for looking.

AUGUST CHALLENGE

Our Hostess Club has a monthly challenge and this one was Christmas theme using only two colours. It actually was easier than I thought it would be. The first card uses bravo burgundy and white, while the xecond is concord crush and pear pizzazz. The colours do not show true on this page. Concord Crush is much darker, however, the detail of the embossing shows well.
Love the challenges and love these stampin' Gals- they're the best and my main reason for doing what I do with Stampin' Up!
Thanks Ladies- you're my inspiration!
