Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

COLOUR Q CELEBRATION!

Today, Colour Q presented their 100th challenge. One hundred weeks! Amazing.
I've only been participating for a few weeks and can understand the appeal to take up the challenges. This is the card map we were given and we could choose the colour challenge from past weeks. I chose this one....
Very fall-ish but totally suits my mood today. Kind of serious and subdued but ready to shift into
party mode :)   Here's my entry...

If you haven't taken up a Colour Q challenge yet, I encourage you to do so. You'll have fun!

Have some fun today- thanks for looking.

ANY OCCASION CARD MAP

This card shows Christmas but it would be so simple to change it up, for any occasion.
The image was stamped, watercoloured, covered in Versamark ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice powder. Click on the card and you may be able to see the sparkle a little easier.

When do you start working on Christmas cards?
I hope you enjoy yourself whenever that may be.

FOUR MONTHS AND COUNTING

Here's a quick and easy card for Christmas. Two shades of blue and a vellum band with the greeting make for a bold presentation. Need a stack of cards quickly? One like this would do it.

Have a marvelously creative and fulfilling day!

A SCRAP MAT

This quick card has a secret. Behind the design paper, the more mustard mat is full of holes. It was used for punching out pieces for various other cards, but had enough of an edge that I could use it for a mat. Just a little frugal tip for you today :)

Have a terrific day!

MORE THAN SCRAPS

While tidying up my workspace, I came across a few butterflies that I had left from the previous card. I grabbed a card base that I had embossed last week and not used, and then pulled out some stamps. This card began with scraps and ended with 'cute'.
I also had a bit of a 'perception' change. The embossing folder used here has always been firmly embedded in my mind as a Christmas folder, think poinsettias. Really, it is just a densely packed floral folder. Now, I'm thinking 'all year' folder. That's the kind of change I really like. I'm sure I'm the last one to have seen this, but at least I've finally seen it  :)

Have a wonderful day!

NO BERMUDA BAY, BUT I'LL PLAY!

Gorgeous, summery colours this week at Colour Q. I don't have Bermuda Bay so I used Tempting Turquoise in it's place and I think it's close enough. :)
If you haven't taken the Colour Q challenge yet, I urge you to give it a try. There's a certain freedom in not having to make all the decisions.

And yes- that was TWO postings in one day--go me!

THE BEADS ARE WINNING!

This is the third necklace I've made lately and the first picture I thought to take. The previous two were birthday gifts, already given, so no chance to take a photo now.
About this necklace- check out the coiled beads. Too much fun! I bought a Coiling Gizmo and I'm loving it.
Here's a closer look-
I spent two days re-organizing my beads and jewelry supplies which should free up some card making time now.......if I can just tear myself away from the beads. They call to me you know :)

Have a wonderful day, whatever it is you do and whatever is calling you.

PUTTIN' ON THE SPRITZ

Can you see it? It's very subtle but there. I'm talking about the light spritz of purple ink on the base of this card. My spritz tool has not had a lot of use and I can't help but wonder why. It's the greatest little tool!
Screw down the marker so the inky tip is positioned over the nozzle and then squeeze the bulb. This forces air past the inky tip and makes it spritz.  Like embossing, it never gets old watching it happen, but unlike embossing, it takes lots of practice to control. That being said, some cards need a whole lot less control.
This would be one of them.

Thanks for looking today and I hope you have an incredible weekend!

IRIS FOLDING...WITHOUT THE FOLDING!

I'm calling this one, inlaid embossing iris fold-style.
This is a project for hostess club tomorrow night. It follows iris folding design, but is layered and embossed cardstock, not folded. I love the boldness of it due to the matting which is embossed right along with the cardstock strip. Fun huh?  :)

BREAKIN' OUT THE BEAD BOX

Beading and jewelry making has pushed the card making aside for a bit. A very short bit until I figure out how to do both :) Cards by day, beads by night? Whatever.....
I'm showing you a heap of beads, needle and thread, ribbon, and the cardboard core from a roll of tape. After a few hours, this emerged.
A bracelet! Lots of shimmer and colour. Just like some of the cards I make :)

Sunshine today- yay!
Hope you enjoy it and have a wonderful day!
