Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

BREAK OUT THE CRAYOLAS

Crayon Resist is the main technique on this card. I embossed ivory card stock with the poppy folder and before removing it from the folder, I ran the side of a coppery brown crayon over it. The crayon only catches on the ridges and creates an nice outline of the poppies. Then, dye ink was applied with an aquapainter brush. If I were more patient, I would have stopped there and allowed it to dry. However, I wanted to darken the colour by applying another layer of ink so I took the heat tool to it, which melted the crayon and buckled the card stock. While still warm I flipped it over and smoothed it down. This caused the melted crayon to smear a bit and transfer off of the card stock.
Okay.
The piece was put back into the embossing folder, lining up the design and embossed again, applied crayon again, and painted in the inks, again. The final result is what you see here. Loose, flowing, a little messy....I like it.

The background is simply ink pads dragged acroos the embossed card stock.

Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for stopping by.
