Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

HAPPY EASTER BASKET

Hi and happy Friday!
I have an easy basket for you today. Do you remember making fortune tellers back in the day? I was always fascinated by how easily we could make something that moved the way this did. This basket is made using a 12x12 paper from Stampin' Up! with pattern on both sides. After folding the fortune teller, I unfolded it and punched the corners with a big floral punch. Folded up again, it's ready to fill with goodies. Had I made this with plainer paper, I would have embellished it too.

Using  Quietfire Design cutting files. I used my S.Cameo to cut the Happy Easter and mat, and the bunnies. The bunnies were attached at nose and tail around the wire stem of the note holder. The tails were flocked with pink flocking.

This basic idea could be used for many occasions, changing the motifs and words.

BEADS- ON A ROLL!

Rolled paper beads- I love them. ALL kinds of them-  magazine, newspaper, junk mail- any kind.
These were made with printer paper- I have a box of printer paper that has the holes along the sides, that you tear away after printing.

When on a car trip with DH driving, I like to have something to keep my hands busy.
Rolling paper beads works.

After painting them with gesso, some were watercoloured, and the rest had tiny torn strips of painted tissue paper glued on. Once dry, I brushed on pearl paint. All the beads were given a coat of Crystal Effects.

I love that they are irregular and imperfect.
Makes them more fun!

Thanks for looking today.

SPRING WATERCOLOUR CHALLENGE

Hi! Are you craving colour, and warmth? Good to know Spring is officially right around the corner!
Suzanne did up this fantastic e-cut for spring, and you can find it HERE.
I thought it was perfect for some blotchy type watercolouring. It's fun to watch the colours blend and run into each other. Begin by wetting down the area to be coloured- the spring cut out. Then dab watercolour here and there, repeating until you get the look you like. Add more water to move the colour, and more colour to darken it.
I went all around the edge with a dark green marker, and allowed it to bleed a bit, into the still damp cardstock. The flowers were coloured, stacked and glued to the card base.
I'm entering it in VIRGINIA'S VIEW CHALLENGE

HEALTH- IRISH BLESSING CARD

I was in a mood to make a challenge card today- so I did! I've been wanting to use a new e-cut file from Quietfire Design as well. It's HERE. It means 'health'. It goes with the sentiment, but is meant more as a toast before drinking.  :) I was impressed with how nicely it cut, being so small.

I've chosen these challenges:
