STARBURST BACKGROUND CARD

In the Splitcoast Weekly Inkling newsletter, there was a reference to a Starburst background for cards. I got busy, cut and paste, punch and glue, then ruined the whole thing by spritzing it. I was less than happy with the result. Click for close-up- see...ugh!

Not wanting to trash the entire card, I removed the sentiment strip and re-did it, leaving it clean, not spritzed.

It's better but I need to be cautious adding spritz to finished products :)

I did cut into new sheets of paper for this card as I wanted to use some new designer paper I had, but this would be a good card for using scraps.

WE'RE BACK & ERASER CARVING

Hi! We are back from our beautiful Caribbean Cruise vacation. It was wonderful! If you ever can-go. You won't be sorry. I know there've been some incidents lately but do your homework, use a reputable service and go.

In life, stuff happens.

Before we left, I carved an eraser. I hadn't done this for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed doing it again. The first picture is the carved eraser stamp and the second shows what I made with it.

There is a small piece of double-sided tape holding the eraser to the block. You can use these stamps without a block but I had one so why not? :)

It was a few days before Valentine's Day and I wanted to make it to give DH on the Tuesday. I couldn't share it before we left as he reads my blog- isn't that great?! Anyway, it was fun and there will be more carved stamps in the near future. There are tutorials all over online if you want to give it a try. Just use Mr. Google.

DH drew the two winners for the pendants I was giving away for the 2nd anniversary of my blog. They are Donna, and Deana. Congratulations!

We're happy to be home and I'm revved to create so I hope to have some shares for you real soon.

COLOUR Q & SPLITCOAST

Once again, I wanted to take up the challenge offered by Colour Q. Bold and dramatic colours, aren't they? Edgy even. Deciding how to use them came easy as I wanted to try the challenge at Splitcoast as well, and make a cascade card. Here is my entry....

Not edgy, not terribly bold, but quite girly and a little dramatic. The best part is how easy this card is to make. I followed the tutorial here.

INSPIRATION ROCKS

I hope you aren't tired of the tangles yet. The rock on the left was first sealed with Mod Podge, then I drew the tangles with my permanent marker. The base colour is the natural colour of the rock. The other rock is straight decoupage. I had a sheet of tangles laser copied, then I cut it up and podged it onto the rock. They will be useful as inspiration for tangle times, as well as just being decorative.
