Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

SUNCATCHERS

These sun catchers came about because I had some stained glass left over from my class project, and I wanted to practice soldering.
The class project should be done this week and ready to share here.  I hope. We were supposed to be done last Tuesday but it just didn't happen. It's an ambitious project for beginners but we have learned so much, and just love it.
My sis -Ellie- and I are taking up wood carving and basket weaving as well. FUN! Might as well get lessons while I can, and doing them with my sister is a total bonus.
The instructors that run these classes have been doing these 'arts & crafts' for years, some for decades. My son Ben says this is like being taught by a master. We like that.

Thanks for looking- more to share soon!

FUNKY CAT

I forgot all about this guy!
He's stitched on linen, and will be a great throw pillow topper.

Love his golden eye.
I definitely have the stitching bug, and I'm presently taking a stained glass class.
Lots of colour and sparkle to come!

HAPPY 2015!

STITCHING AGAIN- COMPLETED BAG

Hi! I stitched up a laptop bag, which can be a tote for anything when not needed for the laptop.
I began with 4x4 inch squares, done Teesha Moore style.

After layering the fabrics and batting to make 4 inch 'pillows', I embroidered here and there. Then joined them together to form the bag.

Then, a little more random stitching with the yarn to match the crocheted gusset.

A closer look.

I love hand stitching and I love freeform projects, and I needed a carry bag for my laptop, so, WIN,WIN,WIN!

The other side.
This bag was probably 5 weeks in the making, and I totally enjoyed it. All of it made by hand.

I hope your day is awesome, and thank you for stopping by!

MORE STITCHING

I had to make another needle case, to hold my embroidery and large eyed needles.
What better item to practice some stitching on?

The pink/purple cord to the right, is attached to folding scissors that tuck into the back of the case.
I'll have more photos soon, of a larger project I just completed.

See you next time!

STITCHIN' TIME

Hi Everyone!
Just a quick share today, showing you some stitching I've been doing. Very random, very satisfying. Basic shapes drawn inside a circle, add some wavy lines, stitch away!

This circle is about 4 inches across.

This is the beginning of my stitching journey. There will be more to come.

Thanks for looking today!

IRIS FOLD ORNAMENT CARD

Hi Everyone! I hope you're getting your Christmas cards done :)
I haven't done an iris fold card in a long time, and truth be told there is no folding on this one either. I cut strips of pattern paper and laid them down in an iris fold design. I really like how the papers work together, and so easy to do.
There are iris fold directions all over the web- just ask google :)
The stamp is a beauty from Quietfire Design. There's a super special on right now!

If you'd like more card ideas, check out my post at Quietfire Creations.

Thanks for looking today and have fun with your card making!

JUST FOR YOU WITH JUST SCRAPS

Hi Everyone!
Here's a quick card today, that will help you clear off your work table. Maybe.
You can see how easily I created this card. I cut fishtails into strips of design paper. I stamped JUST FOR YOU onto scraps and die cut them.
Added some sponging along the edges and did faux stitching with a marker.
There you go- quick, easy, and fun!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!
