You would think I'd been out of town again with the way I've neglected my blog. Just a funny week.

I have lots to share with you today and first is this card that uses a die to emboss. I had seen this done all over the blogosphere but hadn't tried it. My friend Jutta came over, handed me the tan mat and said something along the lines of "go for it!". How could I resist? Thanks Jutta! This tree is one of several we did that evening and while the results look great alone, I preferred adding inks for colour and stronger definition. There are times when the un-coloured version serves better as a subtle background or on a monocolour project.

I stamped the sentiment, then cut it up to provide a little interest to the card. You can find the tree die , the sentiment stamp and the embossing folder at Quietfire Design.

CLEAR RESIST, CRAFT INK & PASTELS

This is probably the 20th photo of this card- it is so hard to photograph! The clear embossed lettering- thank you Quietfire Design- along with the shimmer, sent reflections everywhere.

This card uses the second technique, chalks over white pigment ink. Hard to believe it's done on black card stock eh? I gave it a spritz of shimmer spray and let that dry, before I applied the pigment ink and chalks.

PRESTO PAPERS PLUS

Stampin' Up! has these already clear embossed papers they call Presto Papers. They are quick to use and the designs are varied and beautiful, This card uses a small piece that has handwriting on it. I added some pink ink, clear embossed the flower and sponged on lots more ink. Quick and easy peasy!

CHALK 'EM UP!

Here are two cards that show how you can do anything with baby wipe and chalk card stock, that you could do with any other card stock. The top card shows clear emboss resist done on the flowers. The bottom card has been dry embossed, sanded and inked. There has to be a name for that- if you know it, let me know. :)

The chalk, when applied with a baby wipe, acts like a paint and is permanent once dry. This allows you to do any techniques you'd like without disturbing the chalk.

Break out you chalks and baby wipes and have some fun. No rules, just do it!
