Welcome!

This is my place to share my creative bits and pieces. My art has no rules, no limits and absolutely no order. My projects change with my moods but for the last few years, my main focus has been paper art. Cards, collage, mixed media and as many techniques as I can get to. My inspiration comes from everywhere.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

ICE CREAM COLOURS

The challenge was to make a card using a heart, or hearts. I think the pink and orange look like strawberry ice cream and a creamsicle- yum.
The heart has been watercolored and the small flowers in it coloured with markers. The heart was then inked with Versamark and heat embossed using Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Love this technique. Here's a closer look-

Pretty!

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine today.

FOUR DAYS LATE, BUT HERE IT IS!

Today, I remembered that I was going to try to post a Christmas card on the 25th of each month. I wonder how many months I will forget :)   I got  a little heavy handed with the vanilla spritz, which is no surprise to me as I've yet to feel in control when using it. The eyes are the tiny pearls from Stampin' Up! I love those pearls and rhinestones!
The deer are from a piece of wrapping paper I received a gift in. Thanks Lorraine!

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for looking.

TEXTURE

This card has the same design layout as the previous post. Hard angles and curves tend to go together, as do the turquoise and old olive. In my head I hear "blue and green should never be seen". It was something I was told when choosing clothes to wear together. Funny, the little things we remember. The texture is both visual and tactile. Again, I wonder how we made cards before embossing folders. They took longer, that's for sure.

Have a good creative day!

BUGS AND KISSES XOXO

One for the kiddies!
I guess I'm not done with hearts yet :)

Have a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIRDY

Just some stamping and a bit of dry embossing but I really like that bird image. Is it because we have snow everywhere and it reminds me of spring? Maybe. I just know I really like the look of him. This card is nice and flat and would go through the mail without a problem. If I decide to hand deliver, I'll add a nice brown button where the ribbon meets the happy birthday block.
So, what do you think- does the ribbon make this NOT a masculine card? ( Please excuse my mangling of the language ) Or would it still work?

Enjoy your day!

FAUX CLOISONNE ALMOST

Faux techniques are always fun and they usually come pretty close to resembling what they're imitating.
The instructions for this one say to use magazine paper to apply gold embossing powder to. This gives you a shiny, colourful bachground showing through the gold. I changed it up simply by using up some scraps I had on hand. Yes, using up the scraps again, but they provided the colour and shine I needed for the technique.
That's basically all there is to this one too. Just gold emboss over colourful background paper. It looks great done with magazine paper too. ;)

BUTTERFLY SILHOUETTE

This card went together very quickly and is a little bit elegant don't you think?

It's the weekend! I hope you get some playtime and relaxing time. For some of us, playtime IS relaxing time :)
